At the end of September Grazia Holland organized the Grazia Red Carpet Awards for the first time. The ballroom of The Grand Amsterdam Hotel was the glamorous venue of the evening. During the show, six awards were given to Dutch celebrities. Grazia Editor-in-chief Hilmar Mulder announced the nominees and winners, in the following categories: Red Carpet Hairdo Award, sponsored by L’Oréal; Red Carpet Stylish Man Award; Red Carpet Stylist Award; Red Carpet Fashion Forward Award; Red Carpet Most Talented Beauty Award, sponsored by Rimmel; Red Carpet Style Goddess Award. The winners were chosen by Grazia readers voting at the website page Grazia.nl/redcarpetawards. A few lucky readers had the chance to attend the event.
As part of the communications campaign of the event in cooperation with Samsung, one of the sponsors, Hilmar Mulder joined a live Google hangout session with a group of readers while guests were arriving. In the weeks before the event, Grazia promoted the Samsung Google hangout in the magazine and asked readers to tweet their most pressing fashion matters on Twitter with #starttheconversation and #grazia_nl. Seven readers were selected to join from home the live hangout and received a new Samsung phone and of course a Grazia goodiebag for their participation. The whole fashion chat was streamed live towards Grazia website.
