A special pop-up shop!

Shop Queen Mary Portas partnered with Grazia UK for a massive charity initiative in collaboration with Save the Children. To celebrate the partnership 5th anniversary Grazia hosted a special pop-up shop in the Upper Street branch on June 4th. Wanting to change the idea of charity shop, Mary put her style to it: ‘I really believed we could change the concept of the charity shop into something that has respect and loveliness, and make money for those who have less than we have, and so I went to Save the Children with it and they jumped at the concept’. With this in mind, Mary now counts 16 shops where to find vintage clothes and homewares and Grazia put its style into this for a good cause.

The schedule of the day was super curated and interested and included: a Live shop window illustration from artist Jenni Sparks; Mary Portas in store manning the tills and reading from her book Shop Girl; A Beautification Station from London College of Beauty for some party preening; a Fashion Takeover – get styled by fashion news and features editor Hannah Almassi.
To close the day celebrations were in order with Mary’s Living & Giving team! Great Job UK!
